Food production for kids.

By Annie Wescott | Founder

Food production is one key area that sawy is tackling in trying to feed kids daily on an average of 3 meals a day.

To avoid running out of food,....sawy has put up lush hydroponic nutritious gardens & is working on putting up more.  These gardens consists of fresh vegetables & fruits to help supplement the kids meals. These gardens are irrigation independent which is another way of beating droughts caused by being dependent on rains which is a common practice in Africa.

As a former research officer for Corteva Company in USA,.....Annie has since initiated this project & continues to provide hydroponic training  programs to help with food production for the vulnerable kids that cannot afford any meal. Putting up this type of gardening comes with its own challenges as it tends to be expensive from the set up of the land,to techinic pipes insertion,  culminary pipes, electric rupees etc  but is olways worth it in the end. Sawy seeks to add 2 more of such.

Feeding the kids daily fulfills sawy's mission to help the poor kids who cannot fend for themselves.

This coming December sawy is working round the clock to ensure there's enough food for every kid under its shelter. Orther daily foods that are constantly on demand daily include ( infant foods, milk, weekly chicken or meat to help with protein.
