Dear supporters,
In the last months, more than one hundred Afghans have benefited from IAHV’s HRE (Healing, Resilience and Empowerment) workshops, releasing acute and basic stress and fears, improving sleep and providing relief. In addition, 6 of them have completed an advanced HRE program, a more intense trauma-relief workshop allowing to release deeper stresses and traumas, reduce depression and anxiety, strengthen overall wellbeing and resilience.
Here are some testimonials of the participants:
"Just 5 days before I tried to suicide, because the situation here in Afghanistan is extremely hard, and it is the worst situation that ever happened in my life. This workshop has given me a lot of techniques to decrease the tension and stress. Currently I'm relaxed and even though I had a busy day I feel energetic. Thank you for teaching me what I currently need the most."
“We had so much stress and anxiety, there was so much to process. HRE helped us to process, now we feel peace and tranquility.”
”Before the session there was tiredness and sadness, but now even feeling my whole outlook is brighter about myself and about life. Now I have discovered this positive and hopeful outlook and optimism for the future and the continuity of life.”
"For the last two weeks since being evacuated, every night I was having nightmares that some person was trying to kill me. After the first day of the workshop, that night I did not have any of those nightmares anymore."
The workshops were conducted online and attended by Afghans all over the world: in Afghanistan, Europe, USA and Asia. Some were joining from Kabul in the midst of active fighting, cold and very dire circumstances.
IAHV’s team includes Farsi speaking facilitators.
If you know Afghans who would like to join, please do not hesitate to invite them. For dates and registration: www.iahv-peace.org/Afghanistan
