You have helped Asharan to care for 26 children including infants, toddlers, older kids & children with special needs this quarter with your kind support. You have clothed them, fed them, given them round the clock care & education; you have helped them to celebrate their birthdays though their parents are not around them; You have helped them to have a secure shelter with proper lighting, water and fresh air. You have helped the sick children with medical support; you have helped the special need children with required therapies. You have helped the children with a new van for them to go to hospital, school, court and for fun outings. You have brought comfort to these little ones in the darkest days of their life.

Ran away from home to survive!

Every child that come to Asharan has a story to tell. 7 years old Ruby (Name changed) can’t believe that what is happening to her now, is real. She is getting to realize that it is Ok for her to play like children, to study or to take an afternoon nap. She is relieved to know that the responsibility of looking after her younger siblings are not on her shoulder anymore, that she doesn’t have to clean the house, wash utensils and clothes and that she is not beaten up or burned with heated spoons if she make  mistakes. Her wounds are healed leaving skin deep scars on her body. She limbs while walking. Her heart and mind still need much healing. She had ran away from the overwhelming situation of her home and never wants to go back there. She feels secure when she sleeps at night in the company of other children at Asharan.  She knows that the loving staff at Asharan watches over her night and day. She is happy when she is able to recognize colors and count blocks. She dreams of school now.
