Nisha is back on her feet
3 years old Nisha was found abandoned near a temple. The child could not speak or get up and walk. She smiled at everyone who passed by and extended her hand towards them as if it is to shake their hands. She was also undernourished and had a healing wound behind her back. She could sit for hours in one place. She was immediately put on occupational therapy with the help of Asharan’s friends. She is improving. She is able to get up and walk now, though her gait is not completely steady yet. She is very excited about her ability to walk. She tries to say repetitive sounds like ma ma ma , pa pa pa etc. she is able to take normal diet. It seems that she had delayed milestones. We are prayerfully looking forward to her bright future.
HOPE foundation, Asharan is grateful to all our friends for helping children like Nisha. Though completely helpless and dependent, children are able to trust that someone will surely meet all their needs and they need not to worry. They are able to re- live their childhood as they deserve because you are willing to remember them and support them in your day today busy life. Your support and prayers are much more valuable than what you could imagine, in the lives these children.
We thought you may be eager to know about the progress of the children who are receiving the therapies. All of them have improved. Vanshika’s muscles are becoming more flexible. She is able to keep her limbs straight. Amit who was bedridden is able to stand with support for few minutes wearing calipers and splints. Anil who had one sided paresis has started moving his right side that was weak. Sahil who was not able to turn sides is able to stand up with support. Nisha who was not able to stand up is able to walk and is able to balance while picking up things from the floor. Baby Sakshi is in the hospital. We would start her therapies when she is back.
Thank you very much for supporting these children.
