Diya was neglected of parental care and nutrition before she was rescued at the age of 2 years. She looked like an infant at that stage. She was irritable and could not tolerate sound, light and people around her. She had to be hospitalized before we saw slightest signs of improvement. Adding to the agony, she was also diagnosed with an incurable health condition and developmental delay both mentally and physically.
Though she made very slow progress in the initial 2 years of her stay at Asharan, she made considerable progress in the 3rd year. She is able to walk holding on to our finger. Her health has improved. She is able to play with other kids for a short duration. She has started to sit in the class room with the other children now. her attention span has improved. She is also making efforts to speak few words. She happily celebrated her 5th birthday though she did not understand what was happening.
I just want to let you know that you have played a significant role in Diya’s progress. You have helped ease her pain and suffering; not only hers, but also other children like her by sending your support and your love and wishes.
If you are more blessed, don’t hesitate to invest in these children.
