Adapting to Challenges: Feeding Women & Children in South Africa
By Namritha Sivsanker | CEO, Hope SA Foundation
This month, support was slower than usual, and we had to reduce our feeding schedule by one day. Despite this, our team continued reaching vulnerable families with essential nutrition and care.
We delivered 520 food parcels and over 300 food hampers to households across Gauteng, providing 2–3 weeks of staple groceries. 7,100+ hot meals were served to children and women, and 45 mothers received emergency packs with baby formula, nappies, and hygiene essentials. We also monitored child-headed households, ensuring children remained safe and in school.
A Story of Hope:
One family, headed by a single mother named Lerato, shared how the food parcel allowed her children to eat for several days without worry. She said, “It reminded me that even in hard times, we are not alone.” Stories like hers remind us that every donation is more than food, it’s hope, dignity, and the chance for children and families to survive and thrive.
Even with these challenges, your generosity ensures women, children, and families remain fed, healthy, and hopeful. Thank you for helping us make every meal count.
With gratitude,
The Hope SA Foundation Team
