Dear Supporters,
Kilifi County continues to face a severe housing crisis. Thousands of families are forced to live in unsafe shanty houses that expose children to harsh weather, disease, and displacement. With a poverty rate of 49.2%, many households lack secure shelter, clean water, and sanitation, leaving them vulnerable to climate shocks and extreme poverty.
Thanks to the support of one partnering organization, the Homes of Hope Initiative has already begun. Several families have moved into safer homes, and the community has seen firsthand how secure housing restores dignity and stability. One mother shared how her children can now sleep safely without fear of rain or illness—a simple but lifechanging transformation. Yet, the need remains overwhelming, with hundreds of families still waiting for shelter.
We plan to construct 500 safe, affordable homes using durable, locally sourced materials. Each home will be equipped with solar lighting and rainwater harvesting systems, ensuring clean energy and water security. Alongside housing, we will improve sanitation by building ventilated latrines and training communities in climateresilient construction techniques.
With full funding, this initiative will not only provide secure homes but also empower families with vocational skills, strengthen community resilience, and reduce poverty. Your continued support is vital to extend this lifeline to more families in Kilifi.
Thank you for standing with us in building futures filled with dignity, safety, and hope.
Warm regards,
