EDEN owns and manages almost 1200 housing units

EDEN continues to use the monies in the Homeless/Eviction Prevention (HEP) Fund to help hard-to-house persons (1) secure housing and (2) once they are housed, help them keep their housing.

We are vigorously seeking more funding so that we can continue this critical program. We received $30,000 from The Norfolk Southern Foundation. We have submitted grants to numerous foundations; unfortunately, the wait time between submission and hearing about approval/denial can be quite long in the nonprofit world.

Since January 2025, EDEN has distributed $95,287.25 to 103 households to help them secure housing or to help them keep their housing.

This is in addition to the numbers reported in June:

  • ERA 2 Funding: Since January 1, 2025, we have processed 622 applications for COVID-related housing assistance. 491 (79%) were approved for payment. Total distributed as of 6/25/2025: $2,170,154.31. Funds become unavailable after June 30th, so we are striving to process the remaining applications so that all awarded funds are spent.
  • ARPA Funding: We are close to distributing all awarded funds. 59 applications were processed since January 1, 2025. 21 were approved for payment. Total distributed as of 6/25/2025:  $18,189.01.
  • Public/Private Donations: Since January 1, 2025, 96 applications have been processed. 63 were approved for payment. Total distrubted as of 6/25/2025:  $98,199.85.

On October 24, EDEN will host its annual fundraiser: HOMECOMING 2025. All proceeds will directly support EDEN's mission, including the HEP Fund. See https://edencle.org/event for more details.
