SHAKTI Organisation has been working on the issues of elderly people for the last fourteen years. In this quarter we observe the 74th Independence Day in our home.
As the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting, we face shutdown and lockdown till the end of August. As COVID-19 cases increasing day by day and continue to soar around the states of our country, the physical and psycho-social health of our senior citizens needs attention, now more than ever before. We do regular health checkups weakly twice by the specialist doctors.
We have fixed a self-sanitizer spray machine in our home for our inmates and outside visitors because older people face significant risk of severe illness if they contract the disease due to physiological changes that come with ageing and potential underlying health conditions.
But in our home we have tried to entertain our inmates by watching mythological programme and playing indoor games during this situation. They do yoga and pranayama regularly to boost their immunity. We have distributed mask, sanitizer and hygienic kit to our inmates. Our staffs gave awareness on hand wash practice, importance of social distancing and use of mask and also do’s and don’ts to fight against covid-19.
As we have not received any donation for this quarter, but we are still trying to mobilize funds from other sources.
Gratification: We are very much thankful to the donors who have supported the causes of our Senior Citizen inmates and expecting their support and blessings in the coming days.
