SHAKTI Organisation has been working on the issues of elderly people for the last fourteen years. In this quarter we observe the international women’s day and fixed 32’’ LCD TV in the home for entertainment.
As the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting the global population in drastic ways. In many countries, older people are facing the most threats and challenges at this time. As COVID-19 cases continue to soar around the world, the physical and psycho-social health of our senior citizens needs urgent attention, now more than ever before. Older people face significant risk of developing severe illness if they contract the disease due to physiological changes that come with ageing and potential underlying health conditions. The lockdown was necessary but sudden, and no one was adequately prepared, least so the elderly.
But in our home we have tried to entertain our inmates by watching mythological programme and playing indoor games during this situation. They do yoga and pranayama regularly to boost their immunity. We have distributed mask, sanitizer and hygienic kit to our inmates. Our staffs gave awareness on hand wash practice, importance of social distancing and use of mask and also do’s and don’ts to fight against covid-19.
In this quarter, 12 weekly health check-ups were organized and we lost 2no’s of our beloved inmates.
As we have not received any donation for this quarter, but we are still trying to mobilize funds from other sources.
Gratification: We are very much thankful to the donors who have supported the causes of our Senior Citizen inmates and expecting their support and blessings in the coming days.
