SHAKTI Organisation has been working on the issues of elderly people for the last twelve years. The last quarter was enjoyable for the inmates. Festivals like Holi (colours festival), Pana Sankranti (New Year Day of Odiya community) and Ugadi (New Year Day of Telugu community) celebrated with great fun by the senior citizens of Home. 12 weekly health check-up camps were organised. Two eye camps were organised in which 8 no of inmates had cataract operation and distributed spectacles.
In the month of March, we lost two of our beloved inmates and in April, we lost the most elderly person of age 98 who was staying in our home from the beginning.
With the support of generous donation through the Global Giving platform, we have purchased one electric water purifier for use of our inmates. They are now using it and feeling very happy.
Gratification: We are very much thankful to the donors who have supported the causes of our Senior Citizen inmates and expecting their support and blessings in the coming days.
