With this Report we want to share with you some information about HIV Diagnostics in women and something about vertical transsmision.
In recent years there has been the feminization of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, in other words, the situation of women demonstrates that heterosexual transmission of HIV has increased, which leads to maternal-fetal transmission in our country the health legislation requires that you undergo an HIV detection test when you receive care in public health spaces, which has contributed to the decrease in vertical transmission rates.
In 18 years of work with pregnant women, we identify that It is very important to provide the future mother with emotional support in the face of the impact of being diagnosed with HIV, in a space of trust, strength, and coping with the different fears and challenges that come with being an HIV-positive mother, in addition to providing her with own tools that allow her to promote better development. psychosocial and emotional to their baby.
This project represents an opportunity to reduce vertical transmission of HIV in children of pregnant women who lives with HIV, in this program, we prevent vertical transmission attending mental health of women with recent diagnostics, generate medical treatment adherence and prevent transmission during the breastfeeding.
