Transformative Impact on Isolated Communities

In our corner of rural Eswatini, many people face numerous challenges in accessing quality healthcare. Issues such as limited resources, transportation hurdles, and a lack of awareness often leave residents vulnerable to preventable illnesses and untreated conditions.

Over the years we’ve come to find that these disparities are so profound, that they affect not only the physical well-being of individuals but also the development of the community. From the stories shared from this little corner of ours, we hope that you see how medical outreach, and taking healthcare to rural doorsteps, is a beacon of hope for many. Through the help of people like YOU, we are paving a path towards a healthier and more empowered rural Lubombo. As we close out 2023 and welcome in 2024, we invite you to catch up on all our organization’s updates.

The world commemorated World AIDS Day on December 1st. The spotlight shines on the tireless efforts of those working to combat HIV/AIDS in vulnerable communities. For those residing in Eswatini's remote villages, access to healthcare services, especially HIV testing and treatment, remains a significant challenge. Since our inception in 2008, we’ve dedicated ourselves to bridging this gap, taking proactive steps to provide testing and treatment services to underserved rural communities.

Through our mobile clinic and consistent community outreaches, we travel to isolated areas, offering free services such as testing, counseling, and referrals for treatment. Our clinics in Maphiveni and Nsoko, are also able to provide ART initiation and refills.

But our efforts do not end there. We have also created support networks such as our Teen Club, a support group for adolescents living with HIV; providing psychosocial support and dismantling the stigma surrounding the virus. Every day we feel so blessed to be able to provide life-saving testing and treatment to a multitude of people in rural Eswatini. On World AIDS Day, we celebrated this unwavering dedication of communities like ours, whose efforts provide a tangible ray of hope in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

It does indeed take ALL of us to create a world free of HIV/AIDS and so we encourage you to continue amplifying our voice, sharing relevant projects, and supporting the efforts to reach those who need it most.
