The HERS Support Group is a bi-weekly community gathering dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for women and single mothers throughout the Fox Valley area. Through open discussion, encouragement, and peer connection, participants are able to share personal challenges, life experiences, and emotional concerns in a judgment-free space where they can feel heard, valued, and supported.
The program was created to strengthen community connections among women who may be facing financial hardship, parenting stress, isolation, housing instability, employment struggles, or other personal difficulties. Each meeting encourages honest conversation, emotional wellness, and mutual empowerment while helping participants build supportive relationships with others who understand their experiences.
In addition to emotional and social support, the HERS Support Group also helps connect women and families with essential community resources. Participants may receive access to free diapers, hygiene products, parenting supplies, referrals to local assistance programs, and information about additional supportive services available throughout the Fox Valley region. By combining practical assistance with emotional encouragement, the program aims to improve both individual well-being and family stability.
Community Initiatives of Wisconsin (CIW) remains fully committed to the continued success and growth of the HERS Support Group. Over the next several years, CIW will continue providing organizational support, community outreach, resource coordination, and program facilitation to ensure the group remains accessible to women and families in need. CIW recognizes the importance of maintaining safe spaces where women can connect, heal, and support one another, and the organization is dedicated to sustaining this initiative as part of its broader mission to strengthen and uplift the Fox Valley community.
Through ongoing collaboration, compassionate leadership, and continued community engagement, CIW looks forward to expanding the positive impact of the HERS Support Group and ensuring that women and single mothers continue to have access to meaningful support, encouragement, and essential resources for years to come.
