As the grass is slowly turning green here in New York, we are at the start of a very busy puppy season. In March we were contacted about numerous litters of puppies in need. Unfortunately our ability to take in numerous litters at once is limited not only by the availability of foster homes, but also a firmly held responsibility of finding the best homes possible for our charges.
The decision was made to take in those puppies that we felt either had no other options, or, would be considered "less adoptable" by other rescues. We believe strongly in rescuing the "under dogs"!
At the beginning of March, we welcomed three little black puppies. One was sweeter than the next, but unfortunately we are all too familiar with "Black Dog Syndrome".
Later in the month we welcomed 9 mutts! With love, attention, and good nutrition, we are happy to report that our thin little mutts are quickly developing into fat little puppies.
Although they have had minimal adoption interest, we continue to support multiple adult dogs in our program. Many of these adults have been instrumental in working with our new charges, guiding them into more appropriate manners.
We want to thank all of you who continue to support us. As we are all volunteers who work full time jobs, few of our rescues efforts would be possible without your assistance.
