New Beginnings

Eileen's daughter

Eileen came back to Home of the Swallow September 7th after leaving suddenly back in April.  She says that since she’s come back she feels much better emotionally.  She feels more at peace and is able to concentrate without stressing about the difficult things she went through during the time she was away from HOS.

Eileen's goal right now is to stay at Home of the Swallow until she can find a job that will enable her to support herself and her 1 year old daughter.  She's looking for housecleanig jobs as this will enable her to not only earn enough money to live on, but is also something that she's capable of doing. We are in the process of helping her find a job.

Elieen says “Since I’ve been back at HOS, I feel like I’ve been able to accept the circumstances in my life.  I know that I needed to get out of the unsafe place I was at.  Now that I’m back here, I feel more at peace.”  She’s also learning how to forgive her husband for multiple past hurts.  No matter what he’s done, she knows that she needs to forgive him.  It’s a process.  She’s started that process, but she knows that she still has a ways to go.

She continues “Sometimes I think that I want to go out and do this or that, and I want the freedom to do whatever I want to do,but then I think about my daughter."  She knows that she needs to stay on the path she's on because it’s the right path for both her and her daughter.  God always gives her wisdom, she says.

We're thankful that we can help women like Eileen who have no where else to go.  She admits that she's made some bad desicions, but she's working hard to make a new life for herself and her daughter.
