"Cambiando Vidas, Una Sonrisa a la Vez" (Colombia)

Dear donors and friends,

We are grateful for the support you have given us to continue our mission of improving the lives of patients with cleft lip and palate. This year has been fundamental for the growth of the Sonríe Foundation and we are moving forward with new goals and activities that will allow us to expand our impact in 2025.

Thanks to the collaboration of our maxillofacial surgeons Dr. Jorge Iván Cardona and Dr. Jorge Ramirez España, we have been able to perform specialized surgeries that directly impact the quality of life of our patients. The intervention in the operating room of these professionals has allowed an important evolution in our beneficiaries, returning their functionality and improving their well-being.

As of October 30, we have impacted the smiles of 27 patients through primary lip closure procedures, palate surgeries, bone grafts, and reconstructive nose surgeries. Each of these interventions is designed not only to solve immediate physical problems, but also to promote the well-being of our patients.

The commitment of doctors Cardona and Ramírez goes beyond the surgical technique; their empathy and dedication towards each patient make this process an act of transformation, in which not only is functionality improved, but also hope and dignity are returned to the children, young people and adults who receive this care. These achievements drive us to continue forward, convinced that each surgery is a step towards a more promising and hopeful future.
