Last September Mexico was shaken by two earthquakes of 8.2 and 7.1 degrees on the Richter scale, claiming the lives of 440 people in the most affected states: Chiapas, Tabasco, Puebla, Morelos, Guerrero, the State of Mexico, Oaxaca and Mexico City.

World Vision Mexico responded immediately, helping to date to more than 6950 people. The focus was the protection of children, the provision of food, the provision of hygiene items and clean water and the supply of tools and protective equipment for rescuers.

In Mexico City, World Vision received many product donations from different partners. More than 300 volunteers came together through social networks and organized, packaged and distributed the aid that reached more than 600 families in the first days after the earthquake.

World Vision established Child Friendly Spaces, safe environments of peace, support and psycho-emotional support, so that children can recover after the emergency through play, dialogue and expression. These spaces are attended by specialists and trained volunteers.
