Dear Supporters,
We would like to take this opportunity to tell you all about our new Mobile School. Although it arrived a couple of months ago, we waited for Sander Degeling of Mobile School and Janet Otieno of Glad's House to come to Kitale to open the box. Janet has been using a Mobile School in Mombasa for over a year now and she joined Sander to deliver training sessions to our staff. It was great to finally get the Kitale Mobile School out on the streets!
Day 1 was a massive hit with all age groups, as you can see from the picture, taken by Sander at Street Smart. The Mobile School will revolutionise how we work with street-connected young people as it means we can bring education to them, where-ever they are. Although we will use it at the Street Smart centre from time to time, it means that we can extend the work we deliver at the centre to other areas of the county town. It has already become a cenral part of our work with the young people living and working on the streets of Kitale.
At the end of his stay, Sander put together a short video of the Mobile School being used in Kitale. If you have facebook it can be viewed here: https://www.facebook.com/SWZMS/videos/1535268599935522/?t=3
If you wish to further support our work at Street Smart, this week, April 9th - 13th, is GlobalGiving's Little by Little Matching Campaign. Donations up to $50 by 50%, until matching funds last.
Thank you again for all your support of Child Rescue Kenya, and our Street Smart programme in particular.
Best Wishes,
