Summer Holiday, New Trampoline and Ice-Cream!

By Daniel Vaupel | Director

Ice-cream is always welcome!

Hello everyone and greetings from Thailand!

Today we want to thank you for your support for the children at Tamar Center and want to update you about the things that have happened in the last months. Currently, all the kids are very happy because they have the big school holidays (mid-March till early May) in Thailand. In a couple of weeks, we will have Songkran Holiday – the Thai New Year celebrations – and the biggest water fight in the world. It is tradition that everyone plays with water, and you cannot leave the House without getting soaked during the days of the festival. As you can imagine, the highlight for the kids will be to drive around town and splash water from the back of the truck and just be wild!

At the beginning of March, in the week before all the children had their big exams, we took all the children and our women to a fun park in Bangkok. We went there last year already but everyone voted to go back. Several of the children packed their bags four days before the trip because they were so excited. It was a great trip – everyone enjoyed the rides, the waterpark, the cartoon figures walking around and just being silly and playing for the whole day. The weather was great, and it was a lot of fun for young and old. The drive back to Pattaya in the big Bus was very quiet….

Thanks to your support we were able to purchase a number of new things for our Nursery – for example we got a new trampoline as the old one was worm out and not save anymore and we also got a set of bean bag sofas for the kids. It seems that not only do the kids like them, but also the adults like to come and sleep in them as they are so comfortable! They are a great addition to the Nursery, especially in the moment where the kids spent most of the days, they’re during the holiday.

In the middle of April, we will also stop Tamar for 10 days so that everyone can have a Songkran break. For this time, we will also provide the women with some extra funds, so that they can do something with their children. We found that this is a good way for them to spend quality time together and to enjoy doing something fun together.

Thank you for your support and help for the kids at Tamar Center. Your support is a great blessing to everyone!
