After the break the normal school continues... :)

First day of school after the holidays

Hello everyone!

Thank you very much for your continued support of the children that we have at Tamar Center. In the time since the last update the new school year has started, and all the children are back at school. They enjoyed their long school break too much and so it was hard for some of them to return to school. But thanks to your support we were able to cover all the school expenses for all the children currently at Tamar and for the children that are still with relatives of our women in the countryside. We were able to pay for new school uniforms – several of them started school or changed school and so needed full new sets – books, stationery and all the things that you need for school. Some got some new backpacks as well.

Now as the school year progresses some of the kids are doing well and some are struggling a bit more. We have two children that struggle the most. One came only two years ago from a small village and the pace of the school here in Pattaya is still difficult for him. He is trying and he gets some extra help but learning sitting still in school does not come easy to him. The other boy has just arrived at the end of April when his mom brought him back with her from visiting her family. He still needs to adjust to living in the city now and getting used to new friends at school, but he is on a good way.

Right now, the rainy season has kicked off and we have most evenings big thunderstorms and rain. That does not help with the kids going to bed on time to be up for the next day of schooling and the heat is not easy to handle as well. We hope that soon a bit cooler weather will return.

Thank you for your help in getting all the Tamar kids the best education that they can!
