Education For Afghan Children In Pakistan - Update

Pakistan currently hosts approximately 1.4 million registered Afghan refugees. 37% of the total Afghan population living in Pakistan are school-age children between the ages of 5 and 16. Only 20% of these children are enrolled in school.

Relief International is working to change this by collaborating with Afghan communities in Pakistan to improve girls' and boys' access to education.

In our latest report, we wanted to share some of the recent achievements we have made together:*

Overall Reach: We engaged 19,291 children (8,988 boys and 10,303 girls), with girls representing 53% of participants.
Enrollment Campaigns: Through our efforts, 5,680 primary-age children (2,323 boys and 3,357 girls) were enrolled in 70 formal schools.
Health Club Activities: A total of 10,706 students participated in health club activities, including 5,466 girls and 5,240 boys, with girls making up 51% of participants.
Teacher Training: We organized training sessions for 140 government schoolteachers, focusing on key subjects such as English, Mathematics, Urdu, and child protection.
