Help Women Feed the World

Through our Global Partnership Network (GPN), Women Thrive works closely with grassroots organizations on honing their fundraising and advocacy skills in order to generate effective messages and campaigns and achieve positive change. We assist our partners on an array of topics, from impacting laws and policies to addressing the social norms that maintain and increase gender inequality. We believe that citizens, equipped with skills, knowledge, and confidence, can create the best solutions to advance social justice and a more equitable and prosperous future for women and men.

With your support, Women Thrive recently produced 2 new trainings for our partners. These trainings have been led over the web and also on the ground with our partners around the world: 

• Fundraising Webinar Series: With support from the New Field Foundation, Women Thrive has produced a series of webinars for community-based organizations in developing countries that are working to achieve gender equality. This new series worked with organizations to secure vitally needed resources by growing their fundraising abilities, with a specific focus on the skills needed to find the right donor and communicate their organization’s impact. The series included 6 webinars total. Each webinar had a specific theme. The webinars that Women Thrive created and shared with partners were: 1)Communicating Your impact, 2)How to Establish a Presence Online, 3)Finding the Right Donors, 4)How to Raise Funds Online, 5)Securing Foundation Support, and 6)Reporting It All

• Advocacy Messaging Training: Women Thrive just rolled out its advocacy training guide “Raise Your Voice and Be Heard: A Guide to Advocacy for Gender Equality”: We know first hand how important incorporating advocacy into our work is in order to improve the lives of women, men and young people in their communities. Therefore, we are working with partners to help them gain skills and address head on the policies, norms, or behaviors that impede progress towards gender equality. Some may already be making change but don’t see themselves as advocates for gender equality, and others may wish to include advocacy in their work but aren’t sure where to begin. This training gives partners the skills and knowledge to raise their voices for gender equality and be heard by decision-makers. We currently have three staff members travelling through Kenya and Senegal giving the trainings to womens groups, who will then become certified to replicate and go onto facilitate the trainings in their communities.
