When a child is diagnosed with Cancer, one of the first thoughts is of the future. What does the future hold? When you hear the words that your son or daughter has Cancer, your world falls apart. As you start to process what you have been told, you then start to manage the treatment process and everything that it entails, such as hospital stays, endless appointments and the full schedule of medication to be taken.
At Purple House, we had the pleasure of welcoming back Sarah. Sarah was diagned with leukemia when she was only 2 years old. Thanks to a bone marrow donor, Sarah made a full recovery. She is now in her 20's and living life to the full.
Thanks to your support, you are giving young people like Sarah the opportunities to embrace life while also living with Cancer. You are giving them the opportunity to meet like-minded people and people who are going through the same illness as they are.
You are giving them the opportunity to receive Counselling and a range of support services which will help them to cope both mentally and practically with their Cancer and it's side affects.
When a person receives a Cancer diagnosis, their whole family are affected. Often the family unit is disrupted while everyone tries to come to terms with what is happening. The strain can be enough to break up the family. However, there is hope available, and thanks to your support, families can receive vital services to help them rebuild and face the future together.
We believe firmly in the power of a Community based approach to helping each other in our time of need. You are a part of this, and when you need us, we will be there for you too.
Take Care and Thank You once again for your fantastic support.
