We are delighted to share with you that thanks to your support, at the end of the summer we carried out our biggest food campaign so far!
Furthermore, the number of families we supported even exceeded the goal of 140 that we had aimed to achieve. 150 families received food packages, including 45 young pregnant women, 60 babies aged 0-12 months, and 45 toddlers aged 13-24 months.
The packages were individually prepared for each stage of motherhood (pregnancy, baby and toddler). The campaign was also supported by a significant donation of baby purees and baby porridge by a leading company in the marketing and distribution of consumer packaged goods in Bulgaria. As usual we were considerate of the fact that in some families babies were primarily or exclusively breastfed at a later age – in such cases the packages were modified accordingly to focus on the nutritious needs of the breastfeeding mom.
While fundraising for our next campaign, we are still helping women and babies in need, by visiting the mothers and speaking with them about how important breastfeeding is and by teaching them how to prepare nutritious food for themselves and their babies with a limited budget.
We would like to say a big THANK YOU to all of you who have donated and those who continue to donate – your support ensured that 150 pregnant women, teenage moms and their babies had food on their table for a month.
We are planning our next food donation campaign for the spring of 2023 – we’ll keep you posted!
