KARMIRHATH HOSPITAL, GAIBANDHA
“HELP TREAT 1200 POOR DIABETIC PATIENTS”.
PROJECT REPORT
December , 2013.
The Eye and Diabetic Camp held at Fashitola in Gobindagonj Upo-Zilla which is about 35 kilometer from Gaibandha was a big success. A large number of people attended the camp to check if they are diabetic or if they have developed cataract. 48 people were primarily detected to be diabetics. They were advised to come to Karmirhath Hospital for further check-up. All the 48 people later attended the hospital and, after detailed check up, were found to be diabetics. Each one was registered as a diabetic patient and given Diabetic Guide Book. Necessary trainings were given to them by our Dietitian and they were given treatment by the Consultant.
Case Study:
(1) Lovely Begum: Aged 42 years, Lovely Begum was diagnosed as a diabetic 25 years ago. Being a very poor person she could not afford treatment. Initially, she could not get any treatment due to her poverty. Her husband, a day labor could not help her. Her life continued at this state of her. Meanwhile, she had five miscarriages! One day one of our old patients brought her to Karmirhath hospital where she was admitted and examined thoroughly. After initial tests, she was given Diabetic Awareness Lessons, a Guide Book and free medicines including Insulin. Her diabetes has almost stabilized. She is very grateful to Karmirhath and the overseas donors.
The following documents have been attached:

I gratefully thank the donors of GlobalGiving Foundation for enabling us to help
our poor patients restore their eye sights through Cataract Operations.
