HELP TREAT 1200 POOR DIABETIC PATIENTS”.

                                            PROJECT REPORT

                                           September 07 , 2013.

Ever since a concerted awareness program was started in March, 2013, there has been a marked in crease in number of diabetic patients attending our hospital.

60 new diabetic patients were registered. After necessary tests, proper treatments were given. Guide books and necessary awareness lessons were given. Patients’ relatives and friends who accompanied them were given awareness program.

In order to help the remote rural people we are going to hold a Diabetic and Eye Camp at Fashitola in Gobindagonj Upo-Zilla which is about 35 kilometer from Gaibandha.

Case Study:

(1)  Farida Begum: Farida, a mother of two small daughter is a primary school teacher. Her husband became paralyzed after brain-stroke. She is very poor. She developed diabetes in 2008. There are many diabetic patients among her family members. Initially, she could not get any treatment due to her poverty. One day one of our old patients brought her to Karmirhath. At Karmirhath hospital, after initial tests, she was given Diabetic Awareness Lessons and a Guide Book, besides free medicines. Her diabetics has now stabilized. Farida Begum is now very thankful to the donors for whom she is now getting free treatment and her condition is stabilized.

(2)  Monoarul Islam: Monoarul Islam, 26, is a beggar. He has diabetes since 2007. There is none to look after him. Some kind-hearted person brought him to Karmirhath Hospital about a year ago. Since then, he has been receiving treatment including ‘insulin’ free at the hospital. His diabetes has almost stabilized. He is very grateful to Karmirhath and the overseas donors.
