Greetings, wonderful supporters! This report will be a rather short one as not much has happened since we last wrote. As reported previously, our team decided to wait another year to return to Peru given the remaining COVID variants and the difficulty in planning under recent conditions. We have continued our support of our local partners, Huanchaco al Rescate and Amigo Fiel. These organizations have consistently provided not only food and shelter to street dogs in the area, but also routine, and in some cases, emergency veterinary care. Their work has been particularly important during the spring season when puppies are being born and need to be looked after in a safe place (see photo).
Our US team will reconvene in September to begin sketching out plans for our 2023 visit, during which time we intend to offer a clinic as we have in the past, but also coordinate efforts for the project to be handled by our local partners in the years to come.
Thank you for all of your well wishes and continual support!
Matt & Courtney
