For 17-year-old Lorena, growing up in the rural town of Yonopongo meant facing daily obstacles to complete her secondary education—from transportation costs to the pressure of contributing financially at home. Staying in school often felt like an uphill battle. Everything changed when our scholarship team arrived at her school, Escuela Secundaria Prof. Mario F. Moreno. Through our Futuros Egresados (Future Graduates) initiative, Lorena received not only monthly educational support and essential learning supplies—like the backpack she proudly holds in the photo—but also steady socio-emotional mentorship. Today, with a renewed sense of confidence, Lorena is on track to graduate and become the first in her family to pursue higher education.
Lorena’s story reflects the transformative momentum of our High School program across Northern Argentina. This cycle, we scaled our reach to empower 538 scholarship students across 25 secondary schools in Tucumán, deepening our impact in vulnerable rural communities like Yonopongo, Monteros. Working in close collaboration with strategic educational partners, we achieved an incredible 98% school retention rate this term. Beyond academic continuity, our latest metrics show that 78.5% of participating students increased clarity in their life projects, while over 72% demonstrated significant improvements in communication, problem-solving, and emotional resilience.
Every backpack handed out and every tutoring session held represents a concrete step toward breaking the cycle of generational poverty. By equipping young adults with both tangible resources and socio-emotional tools, we are ensuring that whole cohorts of high school seniors don't just stay in school—they thrive as future graduates and leaders. Your ongoing generosity makes these achievements possible.
Thank you for investing in scholars like Lorena and helping rural youth shape a brighter, self-determined future.
