Thank you so much for your financial support for the Kimbilio Project to help girls who have been forced to live on the streets of Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The streets are a dangerous place for any child to survive, but particularly for young girls and the Kimbilio team of Congolese carers in Lumbumbashi are particularly aware of the need to rescue the girls from the streets and provide temporary accommodation in one of the Kimbilio houses. This safe environment allows the girls to be given regular meals and medical care and the opportunity to restart their education. It is so encouraging to see the joy return to their young lives. The team also look to contact the family of each child with a view to reintegrating them into their wider family if possible.
