This project is growing.
More and more women are joining.
Community is being formed.
Our partners arranged a crucial workshop for organisations in Tamil Nadu to build upon and expand their knowledge and skills; this included how to successfully develop the women's support network and the widespread benefits of doing so for women’s rights.
Various teachers, women's group leaders, local NGOs, several representatives of Panchayats (Council of Village Elders) and social activists participated.
The diverse attendees included a police officer, who shared his experiences and informed about the developments in police stations, according to gender equality. Working alongside police officers is a significant element in the work of this project. It enables police to be trained on how to approach women sensitively and compassionately who have experienced sexual violence, encouraging more women to courageously speak out and seek the support they need.
Other project partner organisations were also successful in Rajasthan. They set up a meeting to discuss sexual violence. For this, they invited various stakeholders: District judges, human trafficking units, the ministry of social affairs, labour and education and Child Line.
These discussions are essential in highlighting the severity of this issue and what women are facing every day.
Your support helps survivors of sexual violence have a voice.
Thank you.
