In September of 2014 TVW opened our Career Development Department. Services include Discovery, which is to determine the persons likes, dislikes, tastes, & strengths. Job Development is another facet of Career Development Services. This entails finding the best fit for a person based on their individual Discovery. This may include job carving, which identifys a need a company has and matches a job seeker with these skills. The end result is a win-win for job seeker and employer. If needed, TVW can also provide job coaching while an individual is working. This is also great for the employer, as the costs of the coach are provided by the state, saving the employer money.
The department has grown to 2.5 employees, with more planned to be hired. There is a high demand for Career Development Services.
Also coming soon at TVW will be a training center to help people with reading, art, math, and other interests. The purpose is to ready TVW clients for community employment by building skills.
The 7th TVW Golf Tournament is set for June 26th at the Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club. Festivities start at 1:00.
