The 46th annual Open House and Auction was a rousing success. The 2nd year addition of the silent auction brought in $1200.00! With a partnership with a local sign company called Sign Shack, TVW was able to purchase a new 2 sided exterior sign, 2 building signs, and put signage on the box truck! The new signs reflect the new TVW logo.
Christmas was as special, as usual at TVW, with Santa coming for his visit and all TVW clients receiving TVW logo stocking hats. It was awesome to partner with Eastco Screen Print and Embroidery. Eastco also provides jobs for people with disabilties, and their prices are fantastic. TVW will definately be partnering with Eastco in the future.
Winter is grant writing time at TVW. There are currently two projects that are in need of funding. Vanguard Services, TVW's Alternative to Employment Center is in dire need of new floors to replace the hard cracked concrete ones and a fresh painting. Grants have been written to Boeing and Schnitzer for the project.
TVW clients have awesome computers, thanks to Boeing and Synopsys, however, the staff who serve them are running on 6-7 year old models with Windows XP. We even still own some Pentiums! Microsoft announced that in April they will no longer support Windows XP, so the need for new processors is imminent! Grants have been written to the Autzen Foundation and Collins Foundation for support of the project.
Next up for TVW is working on the 6th annual golf tournament set for June 27th. Mark your calendars!
