By Sylvester Renner | Project Coordinator
Dear Project Supporter,
We are so grateful! YOUR GlobalGiving donation has supported Alice through her chemotherapy treatment. Alice was diagnosed with stage 111 infiltrating Breast Cancer in July 2014. However, due to the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone, she stood no chance for early treatment as the health system was literally shut down.
She is a beneficiary from GlobalGiving and has this to say: “Am very grateful for funding received to proceed with my prescribed treatment. As a single mother of three (3), it is difficult to put food on the table, let alone pay my medical bill.”
Alice expresses her thanks to Thinking Pink and GlobalGiving in this video.
Planning is ongoing for a survivors’ conference with the goal to bring the threat of cancer back to the forefront on post-Ebola Sierra Leone. This forum will help breast cancer survivors gain encouragement, hope and reassurance that they ARE NOT ALONE.
Your support is greatly appreciated!
Thank You,
Develop Africa team
