Hello Friends of IA!

We want to let you know about Global Giving's 30% Bonus Day coming up September 16, 2015. This will be the final Bonus Day of the year.  Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 16th. Starting at 9:00:01 EDT. GlobalGiving is matching all donations made through globalgiving.org  up to $1,000 per donor at 30%. There is $70,000 available in matching and Global Giving is also offering $6,000 in bonus awards! Matching will last until funds run out or until 23:59:59 EDT. Please help IA get its share of the $70,000 in bonus funds!

The good news is that our Victim Assistance Program will receive an increase in grant funds from the Office of the Governor-Criminal Justice Division of the State of Texas taking us from $240,000 to $617,390. As part of the expansion, IA will collaboration up to 10 local nonprofits to co-locate counseling services to victims on-site in their facilities. These agencies will donate in-kind space, furniture, and/or equipment for use by IA staff to assist in fulfillment of matching funds. This collaboration will expand the IA service footprint for the Victim Assistance Program from the City of Galveston in the South to the Ship Channel in the North.

IA now has a chance to help an additional 1,300 people per year for a total of 2,500! An increase from $240,000 to $617,390 creates an amazing opportunity for IA to broaden its impact in the community! However, we will face a new challenge as well. Our required match amount will also increase from $60,000 to $155,000 annually! If it is within your ability, please consider a monthly donation of an amount that suits you to support this program and to allow us to more than double our service numbers!

All victims of crime deserve compassionate support during their healing and recovery work. Thanks for your partnership with our agency and our mission to help all victims, especially child victims of horrendous crimes, as they transition from victims to survivors to victors. Without your help, the untreated symptoms they face might otherwise impair their functioning and plague them emotionally for years.

Best Regards,

Debbie
