Some Updates and wishes for Happy Holidays!

Hello to our friends and supporters!

As we enter the last bit of 2024, we wanted to wish you all Happy Holidays and hope that you have a healthy, prosperous new year! 2024 was an eventful and exciting year for us and we are glad you are all along for the ride! We just wrapped up our favorite time of the year- Amazon releases! We returned 56 rescued and rehabilitated wild Amazons back to the urban wild of SoCal and it was SO spectacular to see them back out there doing exactly what they were meant to do!

Additionally, we have had film maker, Olivia Geyelin spending some time at our facility this past year while she puts together a film project focusing on wild parrots. The film is still in the works, but we are very excited to see the final project! Olivia has been a joy to be around and has had the utmost respect for the parrots, our process and is hyper-focused on sending the appropriate message that will support our mission. Thank you Olivia for being amazing! You can view a short preview clip for the project here: FLY FREE.

Now, as we continue to trek through the "slow season", it has been anything but slow for the last few weeks. We have had multiple rescues from all over Southern California, including three parrots with wing fractures that required surgical repair. These birds need ongoing, close monitoring to make sure they are recovering well, have a good appetite and are staying comfortable while they heal. In a few more weeks, we should be able to assess their flight skills and give them opportunities to start bulding back up their strength. Keep it up friends, you got this!!

We have also been trying to get out into the community more for some education and outreach events. It's been so fun chatting about wild parrots and hearing the enthusiasm in people's voices when they tell us stories about their neighborhood parrots! It is always a good reminder of why we do what we do and that passion energizes us!

Some other exciting news- we are hosting our WILD Online Squawk-tion to help us get a jump on our 2025 budget that will allow us to help more parrots in need. It starts TOMORROW! If you're interested in checking out all the goodies, text FEATHER to 53-555 for a link to the auction page! Thanks a million for your continued support of our mission to save wild parrots- we could not do what we do without you!
