The Cambodian Children’s House of Peace is continuing to make great progress on reintegrating our disadvantaged youths into the community and workforce. With your generous assistance, we are helping them to live more independently while they continue their studies. Seven of our youths moved to the youth house in August. They are happy to stay with their brothers and sisters and learn to live on their own. They are also glad to still spend time with their younger brothers and sisters at the CCHP, as the youth house is located very near to the children’s home. As older mentors and role models, they help to tutor, teach dance, and with other activities, and serve as good examples for our younger children.
One of our youth girls, Srey Roth, has just begun her university studies this August, majoring in English literature. She is very happy at university and enjoys the challenge of her new classes. One of our boys, Bon, is in the midst of his studies at a vocational training centre, specializing in motor mechanics. Three of the girls successfully passed their entrance exams in July and will start their vocational training in hospitality at Ecole Paul Du Brule on September 2nd. Our youths are happy to further their studies and achieve the skills for a stable income and career. We believe that knowledge and morality are the keys to becoming good citizens and we are so proud of our youths as they work towards gaining an education for a brighter future.
