Dear Supporter,
We are happy to report that the funds that you so generously donated are going a long way in helping rebuild Mountain View Eco Farm in Pokhara, Nepal. The walls are slowly going up on their home and the farm buildings are on their way to getting repaired. The entire extended family and their adorable, 6-month-old son Siddhartha, all of whom have been living in the cow shed, are still in good spirits and grateful that no one was hurt. Soon, thanks to you, they will be out of the monsoon weather, and safe and dry in a closed-in structure. It will take some time for the family to get back to where they were before the terrible earthquake struck in April, but they are determined and steadfast.
As we knew, Govinda would be paying the generosity of donors forward. Earlier this month, he and his neighbors collected a tractor-load of supplies, farm produce, and tarps to distribute among fellow earthquake victims - a Nepali trait that is felt throughout their culture.
So many of the donors who had visited Govinda and his family understand the contribution Mountain View Eco Farm makes to their community in training resource-poor farmers and youth in organic and sustainable farming practices. There's no doubt that getting MVEF back on their feet will help the entire extended community greatly.
Thank you oh-so-much for your generosity!
Shana Greene
