Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, more than $57,000 was raised for our Earthquake Relief Fund, including GlobalGiving's $15,000 grant to support urgent recovery efforts. Every dollar went directly to families and communities most affected.
Shanta Foundation, DBA Shanta Village Partners, has completed the reconstruction of 28 homes in Myauk Hti Bwar and Hti Bwar South, along with the construction of 20 new bamboo houses across several Inle Lake villages. Support was also provided to rebuild the homes of two staff members whose houses were declared uninhabitable.
Looking ahead, we plan to rebuild the severely damaged schools in Kaung Wine and Myauk Hti Bwar. The government has committed funding for Myauk Hti Bwar, ensuring both school projects will reach completion.
