The NICU babies weighed 2 and 3 pounds just a month or so ago. Today, they are all over 5 pounds and growing! We provide the birth mothers with a place to live and care for their premature babies and we teach them how to take care of them even when they take them back to the their homes. We don't just help for today, but try to make sure that these babies continue to do well once they are back in their own homes.
Why do our babies do so well? They are loved beyond words! Our nursing and volunteer staff cuddle, kiss, and nurture these babies. They show the mothers how to bond with their babies. With all of the love floating around our NICU, the babies just naturally thrive!
We also are able to buy special formula and also use a Milk Bank for those babies we want on breast milk. These babies are weak and frail. We want to give them the best possible start that we can!
Your support allows us to staff and supply our NICU. Thank you and please continue to help these preemies in Haiti survive!
