At God’s Littlest Angels our Medical Ministry is the foundation of our organization. We focus primarily on neonatal premature intensive care. We are known for our NICU in Haiti. As a result of poor medical care and lack of resources, many Haitian Mothers don’t have the knowledge to take care of themselves during and after pregnancy.
Our NICU is always busy. We receive many newborns with hypothermia, dehydration, infection, weakness and the inability to suck normally. Our first goal is to help these premature babies survive the initial Neonatal period. Our second goal is to help their mothers gain enough knowledge to take care of their babies with the help of our trained nurses.
With your support we are able to allow the mothers to stay at GLA and create a mother and infant bond during the first months of their lives. With your support we are even able to do a follow up after the babies return home with their mothers. Our survival rate is over 90% for all the preemies that admitted to the NICU at GLA. Please continue to support us! Continue to pray for GLA because we are only able to do so well because of it!
