Dear Donors:
We are finishing the first phase of the project and expect to be able to open it to the public within a few more weeks. The stands for supporting the stoves and the hand rails on the stairs are already complete. This week, we are completing the painting, the attachment of pipes from the biodigester to the stoves in the kitchen and installation of window grids for security. Then our local partner, the Kabiro Human Development Project, will exhaust one of their pit latrenes into the biodigester so that the biodigester will start to produce methane quickly. We hope to have enough methane to light the stoves at our ribbon-cutting ceremony, which we hope to hold in October.
Then on to phase two - construction of the rest of the upper floor meeting area and a filter system for the effluent from the biodigester.
