Start of Construction of Upper Floor

By Constance Hunt | Executive DIrector

Workers starting construction of the upper floor
Workers starting construction of the upper floor

Dear Donors:

Thanks to Globalgiving, KWENCH has enough money to begin construction of the upper floor of our project. This will be a hall where people can meet and consume snack foods prepared by women's groups in the kitchen on the lower floor. We predict that having a place for people to consume food will add considerably to the ability of kitchen users to make money. We hope to eventually add a refrigerator for soft drinks and a television to the upper floor, once construction is complete.

For now, we are adding the section directly above the staircase so that we can ensure security and no-one can force entry into the building. Then, we will feel safe to install the stoves and refrigerator.

Thanks for you continued support!
