Dear Donors,
Daily transport may seem like a small part of cancer treatment, but for poor children with cancer in Nigeria, it can determine whether treatment continues or stops. Many families travel long distances from rural communities to hospitals in urban centers. After arriving, they still need money each day to move between temporary shelter and the hospital. When that cost becomes too much, appointments are missed, medicine schedules are interrupted, and children become more vulnerable.
This project recognizes that access to pediatric cancer care is not complete unless families can physically reach the hospital when needed. Daily transport support helps children attend chemotherapy sessions, laboratory tests, doctor reviews, medication pickups, and counseling appointments. It also reduces stress for caregivers who are already carrying the emotional weight of seeing their child battle cancer.
For families living in poverty, even a short hospital trip can feel impossible when there is no money left after food, accommodation, and medicines. By including transport in this project, Empower Future Initiative is addressing one of the hidden barriers to treatment completion.
Every supported journey to the hospital is a step toward survival. Every completed appointment brings a child closer to recovery. Through this project, vulnerable children are not left behind simply because their families cannot afford movement.
Best wishes,
Empower Future Initiative Team
