Dear members, friends and supporters of Wadadee cares e.V.
In todays newsletter, I am happy to inform you that the "Female empowerment project" is growing and that we were able to purchase an industrial sewing machine.
Thanks to YOUR donation to our Female empowerment project in Namibia on GlobalGiving 32 women were so far able to receive their starter packs and kick off the project. Out of one starter pack, 50 sanitary pads can be produced. These women are now focusing on the production and distribution of the reusable sanitary pads which results in giving them more and more financial independence.
Furthermore, we are currently producing extra sanitary pads to be given out to girls and young women who are currently living in a childrens home which Wadadee Cares is financially supporting. At the same time, we are gonna conduct a "Menstrual health and hygiene" workshop which encompasses both menstrual hygiene management and the broader systemic factors that link menstruation with health, well-being, gender equality, education, equity, empowerment, and rights.
We are looking forward to share the project progress with you in the next report.
Sunny greetings from Windhoek
Miriam Faust and Lena Palm
