Children and Charity is pleased to report that Trevis Mburu continues to do well after his surgery at The Mater Hospital in November. Trevis was able to receive his life-saving surgery thanks to a visiting medical mission team from the Netherlands. Take Heart Association Project (THAP) will continue to monitor his progress by providing him with the necessary medication and checking to see that he and his family will return to Nairobi for his check-up with the cardiologist at The Mater Hospital in early 2012.
THAP is now seeking financial support for another of the children on our waiting list – Felista Wangari. The surgery she needs is more complicated so she and a member of her family will need to travel to India. Your support now will help us get Felista to India soon.
During this festive time in Kenya, THAP’s Family Support Center is open and providing accommodations for children and their families. Our Executive Director, Peter Mbogo Kamau, celebrated Christmas with one family who was staying at the Center by giving the child a small gift and buying goat meat, a Kenyan tradition at Christmas, to cook with the family. The family was able to enjoy the holidays.
In this time of giving and sharing, we are most grateful to our donors for your continued support. Please know that your support is helping these children develop into healthy and happy children, able to attend school and do things that all children love to do.
