Xinxin's biological mother is disabled. Due to her health condition, she finds it difficult to take care of Xinxin or to work. Other family members are also busy with work and unable to care for Xinxin. After much discussion and struggle, they decided to put Xinxin up for adoption.
Xinxin is a curious child. The babysitter often takes her to the playground to enjoy the sunshine, run around, have picnics, and go hiking. They have created many wonderful memories together over the last two years. After waiting for over two years, Xinxin finally found a new home with a father, mother, and an older brother.
Before meeting Xinxin’s new family, she received gifts and toys from them. The babysitter also introduced her new family members to Xinxin, helping her get to know them before joining them. The more Xinxin knows and prepares, the more she trusts and hopes for her new family. During the waiting period, Xinxin was accompanied by many sponsor parents (donors). In the future, Xinxin will grow up well in a loving environment, and the Child Welfare League Foundation will continue to find permanent homes for other children who are still waiting for adoption.
Last year (2023), the Child Welfare League Foundation received 616 consultation calls regarding "giving up for adoption." We discussed with families how to find a better future for their children and how to continue caring for them.
There were also 711 consultation calls about "adoption", helping more people learn about and understand how adoption services work.
Also, there were 85 new cases of children were being put up for adoption. We provided 8,917 adoption services. 45 children had finalized adoptions by the court.
By the end of 2023, 40 children had entered trial placements with adoptive families, and 58 children were still seeking a permanent home. We thank all the donors, and the Child Welfare League Foundation continues to improve our adoption services, hoping that every child can have a secure, warm, and stable home.
