Dear Donor,
Happy New Year! As we start 2014, Shriners Galveston Hospital would like to share with you how our kids are doing. The last three months have been inspiring and joyful; yet, at times, we have encountered heart-wrenching situations that involve our kids who are healing from burn injuries. These heart-wrenching situations, such as limb loss or extreme scarring, are why Therapeutic Art is such an important component of healing at our hospital. Since starting this project on Global Giving, we have nurtured more than 50 kids using Therapeutic Art activities that have raised their spirits and self-esteem. We heard kids laugh as they sketched, painted and molded clay. We saw them come together as a group who were comfortable with each other and could share their feelings in group or in one-on-one sessions. Your donation has helped these kids have fun and engage with others through art during a crucial time in their lives.
Thank you for supporting Shriners Galveston Hospital and helping children with burn injuries live life to the fullest.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
