Michelle realized how dire her situation had become after years of escalating abuse from her husband in Israel. She knew she needed assistance to escape. Michelle always thought her husband would stop abusing her as he always apologized after becoming violent, crying and telling her he was sorrry. But then it would happen again.
After Michelle’s second daughter was born and the abuse continued she had to find a way out. She could not stand the thought of her daughters experiencing the same abuse she did. She called the hotline and spoke to one of our AODVC case managers. We helped her obtain the legal advice and provided the financial assistance she needed to flee the abouse and return to the United States with her two daughters.
It is because of your generous support that AODVC is able to keep battered mothers like Michelle and their children together!
