By Moses Kigozi | Project Coordinator

We love you..aha....aha...!
We love you..aha....aha...!

Greetings!

Around the Equator and on the banks of Lake Victoria comes 1,000 plus, plus  greetings from CHEDRA and Bugabira Primary School! I hope that you had a successful 2014, and wish you  a bright 2015. I have to mention this from the word ‘go’ that in 2014 we received marvelous love from many of you. I am humbled to mention that two individuals Roger Tobin and Bonnie Payne of USA have joined hands with you to further make what is contained in here more significant. This report gives an update of what is happening at Bugabira primary school-a school that you have loved with all your heart!

School Enrollment and academics.

This year has been so busy, we completed with close to 300 children. Among these more than half were in day section and the other part was in boarding section. We hope that the enrollment will even increase this year. Many parents have shown interest to keep their children with us and to bring new ones. The children are happy to be in our school and they look healthy. We have been able to teach our children properly through out the year. We have been able to hold monthly and term examinations depending on the level in which each child is. The general performance is so far so promising. We were able to have 14 candidates who sat for the national primary leaving examinations. This has been great success because this is our pioneer group. The exams were marked and announced by the ministry of Education ,all our children passed in grade 1 and 2. We thank the teachers for teaching tirelessly and you for supporting us to become what we are now.

Using the resources you gave us in 2014, we have been to provide free books, pens, pencils, mathematical sets and uniforms to all children. This would not be possible without your support. In fact, the school made three years on 6th February, but because of the money that you have been giving us, we are growing fast. If it were not for your support, many of these children would be out of school. Thank you many, many, many times. Using the money that you gave us in 2014, we have been able to continue with the construction of the big school building. We want this to be a big multi purpose building. Part of it will be used for classrooms while another part for accommodation and another one will be a main hall. Children will have the opportunity to enjoy good life while here. We have also used part of the funds to construct a birth room for boys. Before your help, girls had a birth room but boys would find it hard to take a birth. Now they are happy, they can bathe any time of the day from a clean place. We were able to purchase several beds, mattresses, blankets and bed sheets. We gave these to children who are much more poor than others that even at home they only sleep on mats. Many of these kids even what to spend the holiday at school because of the good facilities you have provided to them that they cannot access at home. You have been so kind to many families and your love is impacting countless numbers.

Sports

We have trained a good number of these kids in sports especially running and football. In fact, in June 2014, we won the area trophy of primary schools and we were able to represent the sub county at a district level. Our boys are doing well. We need to strengthen the girls team as well. We hope to provide sports items like balls and things of the like. In the near future still, we plan to finish up the big building , continue providing   scholastic materials to all children like we have done this year as a result of your support, award partial scholarships to every first three bright children in each class to encourage them work even harder , continue helping needy families in the best way we can.

Conclusion

We would like to thank you all for your kindness and mercy. I am personally humbled by the way you have always been there for us. The world needs people like you. It is my payer that one time you will physically see, jump with, run with and eat with the children you have supported using your hard earned money. I give you a lot of respect and honor, for you are great parents to the worlds children.

Thank you and we love you all!
